Defining a Table
Excel 2003 called it data list and in 2007 its called a table
To create a data table type a series of column header in adjacent cells then type a row of data below
Select the header and data on the home tab in the styles group click format as a table
When the dialog box appears make sure that the cells you want and click ok
excel 20007 can create a table from existing data list as long as you have a different formatted row and there is no blank columns or header with the data
When you want to add data below a row type below the last piece of data
You see a auto correct smart tag when you move out of the cell
If you didn't want to include data in that table click undo table auto expansion to exclude the cells
You can add row and column to a table or remove them by dragging the resize handle at the table's lower-right corner
You can sum all of your total together by checking the total row in the design tab
You can have an average in the total row an have the maximum or minimum value
Excel has the tables named generically
You can change the tales name to something by click=king the design tab and it the proprieties group changing the name
If you want to convert your table to a normal range of cells in the table tools tab click convert to range
